Book Review: Fats that Heal Fats that Kill

The complete guide to fats, oils, cholesterol and human health
by Udo Erasmus

I've wanted to read this book for years, and it finally came into Mission Mart so I snapped it up.  It's more of a textbook, so I didn't read it in totality. I read it via the table of contents and index - picked and chose which chapters to read.

Science has come a long way since this book was written.  Not only does it read a bit like a textbook (although, it's quite easy to read), it also reads like a sales pitch for his products, specifically, Udo's Oil.
One of the things I found interesting was how oils are refined and processed. However, certain fats are villainized, and I feel a bit duped, like watching the Netflix documentary, You Are What You Eat, A Twin Experiment, which is funded by proponants of veganism, and therefore the outcomes are biassed.

I wasn't sure if I was thinking correctly, but an online search of the book title brought me rather quickly to the Weston A. Price Foundation. If you read it, be sure and also read the comments.

You will see that there are many schools of thought on eating, from carnivore to vegan, and everything in between. It's up to you to do your research and decide what your body best responds to.  I'm not a proponant of everything Erasmus preaches, but it certainly seems to br working for him. He's a healthy 82 year old heatlhy influencer on Instagram!
