Operation Christmas Stocking #SoulsHarbour

Operation Christmas Stocking

Providing gifts for local families in need

How many stockings will be over your fireplace this year?  For Souls Harbour Rescue Mission, it's at least 600, so I think we're going to need a larger mantle!

We've already received lots of inquiries for our stocking campaign so we're rolling it out a bit early.  This year, we already have our children's gifts, so are focussing on adult stockings.

To make a stocking is fun and easy, so consider involving your family, your workplace, and your church in collecting and putting together a few stockings.

Making a stocking is as easy as 1-2-3.

1. Buy or knit a large stocking (available at dollar stores)
2. Collect all-new stocking stuffers for the stocking
3. Pack your stockings full to the brim

Stocking Stuffer Ideas

  • Instant Coffee, Tea, Creamer & Sugar Packets
  • Chocolate, Gum, Hot Chocolate Packet, Cup-a-Soup
  • Notepad & Pen, Sewing Kit, Comb, Washcloth
  • Chapstick, Lozenges, Hotel Sized Toiletry Kit
  • Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Deoderant
  • Fun Surprises: Slinky, Yo-yo, Silly Putty

These are just ideas; you can add your own!  Remember, this will be the only gift a lot of our guests receive over the holidays. Please do your best to make it special.

  1. My ladies group, the Precious Pearls (Crown Jewels of Canada Society) are making up stockings and gift boxes to bring to our Christmas Get together on December 10 (in lieu of doing a Christmas Gift exchange with each other). Once they are all collected, I will be bringing them into the mission. We are doing this in memory of one of our members who passed away earlier this year.
