Not your every day eviction notice...

April 28, 2006

Dear Tenant of 2076 Scarth St.

We have received official notice from the owner of this building that we must vacate the property by May 31st, 2006. We therefore have no choice but to notify you that you must also move out by that date.

I cannot say that we will have apartments for you to rent somewhere else; in fact it looks very unlikely at this point. If we do get a building suitable to rentals, we will notify you within the next month. You would do well to find a place before the end of the month of May because the power and water will be shut off, and the owner may take action to remove anyone left.

Please take only what belongs to you when you move, as the beds belong to the Mission and we may need them in the future. The equipment and furniture on the main level belongs to the Mission and we need it for the future. We are moving ahead with a construction project, which will have 30 brand new, self-contained suites. They will all be rented at affordable housing rates.

This project will open in about a year (or more) from now. If you want to rent one of these suites, contact the Mission at 543-0011 when you hear it is open. If you need something to set up in a new place, ask Len or George. We may be able to help you with some furniture, towels, bedding, toiletries, etc.

We must maintain the rules right up until May 31st, so don’t think partying or vandalism will be tolerated just because there’s only a month, week or day left. We appreciate all of you who have been good tenants in an old and very imperfect building. We hope we can serve you again in the future.

On behalf of the Regina RESCUE Mission,

Ken Porter
Executive Director
